Tattoo Care 101
Please understand that we have inflicted damage to your skin so it is normal to experience some level of pain and sensitivity, as well as signs of redness and swelling. This is part of your body’s healing process and should gradually decrease over time.
As the tattoo begins to heal, you might notice itching or dryness. To help with this and keep yourself comfortable during the healing process you can:
Keep the tattoo moisturized (but don’t overhydrate).
Apply a cool, clean compress to help with the itching sensation.
Opt for loose-fitting clothing over the tattooed area to prevent friction and irritation that could affect healing.
Drink plenty of water, which supports skin hydration and aids in the healing process.
In case of discomfort, take over-the-counter pain relief, such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen.
If you experience significant redness, swelling, or pain, get in touch with us immediately.
Please remember during this period:
Avoid strenuous activities that cause sweating.
Do not submerge your tattoo in water (baths, swimming pools, hot tubs, etc.).
Avoid exposing the tattooed area to direct sunlight.
For optimal tattoo preservation, always remember to maintain a good care skin routine by moisturizing and applying sunscreen to the tattooed area.
